The General Agricultural Competition for Animals: the best breeding animals of French livestock in competition. The only official contest of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, it enhances the value of the exceptional diversity of French genetics.
• 1 000 livestock breeders present, 2500 animals judged, 480 breeds taking part in the competition*.
• All the species represented: cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, donkeys and dogs (430 head of cattle, 970 sheep and goats, 70 pigs, 120 horses, donkeys and ponies, 1 000 pedigree dogs)*.
• Presentation of the elite of breeding animals, rigorously selected by the French Selection Organisations.
Participation of the major players in genetics: research centres, organisations for marketing and promotion of products, semen and embryo production centres…
Presence of many operators in the dairy industry,the meat industry and the poultry-farming sector, and also livestock equipment suppliers.
A range of local traditional products of great diversity: the entire heritage of food and drink and tourist attractions of the regions of France (Metropolitan and Overseas France) and from the regions of the world.
