Equines, sheep, shows and fun activities: the Grand Ring at SIA 2026 is reinventing itself in Pavilion 1.

The Grand Ring in Pavilion 1 is reinventing itself in 2026

The Grand Ring at the Paris International Agricultural Show returns with a brand-new programme, entirely redesigned around equines and sheep. Cattle will also be featured, absent from the stalls but proudly represented by their Selection Organisations.

High-level equestrian shows and demonstrations

In 2026, Pavilion 1 becomes the stage for a vibrant celebration of equines, particularly regional horses and donkeys. These breeds, now considered fragile, are living witnesses to France’s rural heritage.

Visitors will enjoy a series of events combining performance, tradition and education:

  • An exceptional performance by the Cadre Noir de Saumur, a symbol of French equestrian expertise. The riders will present a show of rare elegance, blending dressage and high school figures, on Tuesday 24 February at 2 p.m.;
  • Vaulting shows, where athletic excellence meets emotion and aesthetics;
  • Logging and traditional carriage-driving demonstrations;
  • Parades and presentations of donkeys, draught horses, regional horses, as well as sport horses and ponies.

These highlights showcase the dedication of breeders, drivers and riders who keep these breeds alive (Selle Français, Percheron, Comtois, Ardennais…) and preserve outstanding technical skills. Each sequence highlights the bond of trust between humans and animals, in support of responsible practices.

Sheep in the spotlight, cattle represented differently

The traditional Ovinpiades des Jeunes Bergers retain their place in the ring, with the national final taking place on 21 February 2026, the opening day of the show. The ring will also host demonstrations showcasing the daily life of sheep breeders.

Cattle, the historic hosts of the Grand Ring, will be represented through new and fun activities, including photos, films, interactive games and tastings.

This 2026 edition of the Grand Ring at the Paris International Agricultural Show clearly affirms its ambition: to showcase the diversity of animal sectors while offering a spectacular programme accessible to all. Confraternities, ambassadors of regional traditions, will also bring this space to life.
