Faced with uncertainty, the agricultural world stands united!
In a challenging context for French agriculture, the 2026 Paris International Agricultural Show aims to support the “Generations of Solutions” in addressing climate, economic and demographic challenges — as well as the crucial issue of recognition for the work accomplished and the efforts made.
2024 was a very difficult year for French agriculture.
The profession knew it. INSEE confirms it in its provisional accounts published in early July. The French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies reports that agricultural production in France dropped by 8.8% in value between 2023 and 2024. Added to this is a 5.2% drop in volume and a 6.4% fall in prices, leading to a sharp decline in income. Some may say, “as usual,” as crises follow one another relentlessly.
In this context, where the gap between public discourse and actual recognition of agricultural work persists, “Generations of Solutions” – the theme chosen for the 2026 Paris International Agricultural Show – takes on its full meaning. Faced with the challenges of transmission, food sovereignty, price volatility and climate disruption, it highlights the agricultural sector’s ability to adapt and innovate. Ultimately, resilience is no longer a word – it’s a way of life. At the Paris International Agricultural Show, we see what is beautiful, good, solid, festive, authentic. But we also see what remains unseen: a rural world sometimes forgotten, an agriculture left unacknowledged, farmers who are alone and worn down.
Balance lies in showing what works, to attract the French public and inspire vocations, while also addressing the problems and telling the truth about the agricultural world.
Neither a closed circle nor a vague in-between – simply the urgent need to speak truthfully.
The Paris International Agricultural Show will take place from 21 February to 1 March 2026 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, and will be an opportunity to showcase the answers the agricultural world is bringing to today’s challenges. Every stand, every exhibitor, every farmer holds a piece of the solution.
We firmly believe that French agriculture will secure its future, its influence, and its excellence by cultivating its creative spirit as well as it cultivates its fields and plots. That is why we choose to support, equip and stand alongside female and male farmers, businesses, institutions and professional organisations who are planting the seeds of tomorrow’s agriculture.
An agriculture that is more independent, more sovereign, more innovative, and more sustainable!
In response to agricultural transitions and the off-the-ground remarks of those who would tell us how to work, it is essential that the challenge carried by the Paris International Agricultural Show is strongly echoed at the political level, to support the installation of new farmers who will bring tomorrow’s solutions.
Indeed, innovation is widespread: according to the latest report by the Cour des Comptes, 86% of farmers surveyed have adopted innovations over the past two years.
It is our role to promote the adoption of new technologies, to question current economic models, to pivot toward more sustainable production methods, and to foster the development of new productive systems...
The Show does not merely reflect the state of the sector – it reveals where it is headed.
As a powerful echo chamber for the European Union’s leading agricultural force, France’s largest public trade show fulfils its core mission: to support and honour the work of the women and men who cultivate the agriculture of the future, along with all the organisations that contribute to this movement.
In the idea of transmission, there is the passing on of passion, desire, and expertise...
But there is also the transmission of values – and the Paris International Agricultural Show carries them too.
Because they go beyond individuals and systems, they come from far away, they affect us closely, and they must guide us for a long time to come.
