Description :
La Camelerie is a French agricultural initiative dedicated to the development of a structured camel farming sector in France. Based in Feignies (Hauts-de-France), it focuses on the breeding of dromedaries and the valorisation of camel-derived products, particularly camel milk, within the French and European regulatory framework.
For nearly a decade, La Camelerie has been working to demonstrate that the dromedary can play a meaningful role in the future of agriculture in temperate regions. Through a rigorous approach combining animal welfare, sanitary compliance, agronomic research and territorial integration, the project explores new livestock models capable of addressing climate adaptation, agricultural diversification and food resilience.
In line with the 2026 Salon International de l’Agriculture theme “Générations Solutions”, La Camelerie presents the dromedary as a concrete agricultural solution: a sober, resilient animal, requiring limited resources and capable of producing high-value food in challenging environments. Its presence highlights alternative pathways for livestock farming, complementing existing systems and contributing to the long-term sustainability of agricultural territories.
Beyond animal exhibition, La Camelerie’s participation aims to foster dialogue with professionals, institutions and the public around emerging livestock sectors, innovation in animal production, and the role of unconventional species in tomorrow’s agriculture.
La Camelerie embodies an agriculture of solutions — pragmatic, resilient and forward-looking — rooted in local territories while addressing global agricultural challenges.
